BACKUP

The term "load-shedding" has become synonymous with any and all power outages, however there are other reasons that we have no electricity. These include, scheduled maintenance, cable-theft and failure of grid-components such as transformers etc.

Providing for these outages using an inverter/battery system is a seamless way of obviating power outages and has become a lot less expensive over the last five-years. From units that just back-up a wi-fi router costing a few hundred Rand to systems integrated to the DB board costing fifty-thousand Rand or more, the market has a plethora of solutions to suit your requirements and budget.

In most instances, it is advisable to focus on scalability of any back-up solution, both from an inverter/battery perspective as well as having the option to add PV solar generation in the future. An inverter that offers provisioning for the addition of solar, known as a hybrid or bi-directional inverter, costs slightly more than a standard back-up inverter but could be money well-spent in future.

Silenergy focus on ensuring our customers are aware of all the options available to them and then assist in making that solution affordable through scalability as well as finance options such as rent-to-own. This option can facilitate you deploying the right solution from the outset without investing a large amount of capital. The rental agreement also allows for future upgrades increasing the monthly payment accordingly.
